Mallory has been over the DBs, and this may be the worst they've looked in 10 years. Give him the boot.
Instead of firing them, maybe Miles can help Mallory and/or Peveto land DC jobs at other schools and the positions will open up and Miles can hire a quality DC. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I agree with all of this except Studrawa. There is really no excuse for the way this veteran Oline has played. It doesn't matter who the QB was, they got whooped by Troy and everyone else this year.
I'm most disappointed in RJF, I guess I expected leadership from the DL after last year. I don't think I saw any leadership on this team at all. I'm guessing the OL packed it in after seeing the QB problems every week.
UF was the first team to give us trouble, and we've struggled ever since. I'm not sure why, and I don't know how much of this is due to our QB play, which is why I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Even if that's true, LSU could pull down #1 recruiting classes every year with all 5-star players, but if the coaches don't know how to develop and properly utilize that talent, expect a lot more of what we've seen this year and worse.
I guess we saw leadership on the DL today with the personal foul on the 11 yard line and the kicking of the football way after the play was over. I guess we saw leadership (as someone else posted) with all the gorilla celebrating after normal plays in non crucial situations. Do you think you would have ever seen anything like this more than once on a Bear Bryant team? This is why we desperately need leaders to step up.Next year we'll have the opportunity to see the leadership abilities of Russell Shepard whether or not he starts or even plays quarterback. This is the end of the season folks. There was plenty of opportunity for someone to step up and lead by example, but no one ever did! EVER. Sure, the coaches are ultimately responsible and accountable, but now is the time for the players to step up, take the blame, and start showing some leadership. Place a LOT of blame on the players. Perrilloux is gone! But his ghost sure still lurks around on the LSU sidelines...
