Here are pictures of some of LSU's coaches in no particular order that need reevaluating... (yeah, I have Earl Lane twice... oops) Peveto & Mallory - Need to be fired without hesitation Greg Studrawa - Why has the offensive line that Miles said would be the most physical line in the country underachieved, especially in the last 3 games of the season? The RBs have no lanes, and JJ has very little time to throw. Earl Lane - This defensive line may be the most over-hyped, overrated line in the history of college football, and they turned out to be mediocre at best all season. Yeah, you had one good year last year, but WTF happened this year? D.J. McCarthy - Yet another year where we say all season, "These receivers aren't helping their QB." Other than Lafell and Toliver coming on late in the season, the WRs have been disappointing. Larry Porter - Other than Charles Scott, who has been productive? I thought Richard Murphy was supposed to be a contributor, but he's been nonexistent. Keiland Williams is well... Keiland Williams, a shadow of who he was in '06. Maybe some can be blamed on the offensive line. Joe Robinson - Both the defensive line and special teams have left sour tastes in the mouths of fans. Both have been very unproductive. I say Miles needs to clean house. More than just firing Peveto and Mallory, he needs to do some spring cleaning. What say you?
I say get rid of at least one of the Earl Lanes and pay the money we would save towards what we will pay our new DC.
Mallory and Peveto need to go back to position coaches. Line coaches need to be fired. The other coaches didn't do that bad.
I think this year was too horrible for that now. Had we finished with 3, or maybe even 4 losses, then maybe. But if the rumors that I hear about the players hating the system too, keeping them around is bad news. It would be similar to Trent Johnson keeping Butch Pierre after last year. At first glance, it looks like it could be a good idea, but digging deeper, it would cause more problems than it would solve.
Clean house on entire D staff... Porter is not the problem on O, as far as RB play is concerned. Miles need to let Crowton call his game, period.
Could be demoted, but I think we just need to start fresh and this is what I expect to happen. I'm willing to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. It is very tough to judge them with our QB play. Lane is a great recruiter, but obviously not a great coach. He'll be gone. I know he was supposed to help with DL this year, but I'm not sure how much of a role there he really had. I am fine with our special teams play, but we may need to clear the position to make room for a true DC.
Peveto would be the only coach that I would immediatly fire. He was a piss-poor special teams coach and an even worse DC. Mallory needs to take back his old position.
