    1. Jim Zorn - No brainer. I'd be surprised if he lasted the rest of the season.

    2. Dick Jauron
    - What did this guy ever do to deserve another head coaching job? Did his lack of success in Chicago impress Marv Levy?

    3. Wade Phillips
    - If he doesn't win a playoff game, he's gone.

    4. Jack Del Rio
    - He's done a lot to boost the Jag's defense, but overall, the past several years have been pretty mediocre. Maybe a little too high on the list at this point.

    4. Brad Childress
    - Like Mangini before him, Childress will live and die with the success of Brett Favre, me thinks.

    5. John Fox
    - The Super Bowl was a long time ago, and not much has improved significantly enough to warrant more time. Delhomme is in the twilight of his career with the Panthers, and it appears Fox is as well.

    6. Marvin Lewis
    - There is no doubt that he is a great defensive coordinator, but there has been little improvement in Cincinnati since their playoff appearance in '05. If they continue to win big, he might be okay, but he's been there quite a while with limited success.

    7. Jeff Fisher - I know they had great success last year, but if they keep blowing it like they are, I think we may see another face in Tennessee pretty soon.

    8. Norv Turner
    - How many chances will this guy get? He's going to have to get pretty far into the playoffs to keep his job, I'm guessing.

There's my 8. I think everyone else is fairly safe, save a complete meltdown (Payton - God forbid, Lovey Smith) or a fight within the organization (most likely Oakland).

    What do you guys think?

Definite no to both Fisher and Turner and Childress. Fisher is one of the top 3 or 4 head coaches in this league.

Turner keeps his job because the division will make him look good (they will go 6-0 against them). Vikings will win that division pretty easily.

Agree on the other 5. Marvin Lewis definitely not on the hot seat after the big win over hated Pittsburgh, but he could get back on it quick.

I agree with your list for the most part, but agree with Izzy that no way is Fisher in trouble. He definitely is one of the best.

I agree with your comments about Dick Jauron, but must admit that his and the Bills efforts surprised me last year, so I don't think he is really on the hot seat yet this year. Will probably get at least another year before being fired. Definitely did nothing at Chicago to warrant another shot to begin with, though.

I don't get what the Vikings saw in Childress to begin with , but me thinks he's got to much talent around him to be in trouble this year.

Jerry Jones and Dallas are too weird to figure out. Certainly WPhillips leaves a lot to be desired, but he seems puppet-enough to hang around there so that JJ can play GM/coach.

Lastly, NTurner is another puzzle. Don't get how this guy could have landed three HC positions, but clearly he is better at OC than HC. But, San Diego, too, has so much talent that he has been able to hang on. Hard to read this one.

Cable at Oakland is another one to add to your list just simply based on Davis' volatility.

How bad would it have to get before fisher is on the hot seat? I like the guy, but I wonder how many straight loses he is allowed before he feels the heat. I debated on whether or not to put him on the list, though, which is why he is so low.

I'm sticking by the Childress one. I think his success is tethered to Favre's. If Brett implodes, so will the entire team, most likely, and Childress could be in deep doo doo.

Norv Turner has been given a bunch of chances. If he loses his first playoff game, do you still think he stays? I think the Broncos could give them trouble.

"Playoffs? You kidding me!" Seriously, the Cowboys making the playoffs is not a given, in my opinion, much less winning a playoff game. They were one bad route from Steve Smith from losing to Carolina who ain't exactly lighting it up this year. Jones may still stick with Wade despite that though. Jerry sure like so hear himself talk.

I agree that Zorn, Lewis, Jauron, Phillips, Del Rio, and Turner are all on the hot seat.

I'd add definitely add Eric Mangini -- Browns aren't even looking like a team of professional football players. On top of that, he's been doing all kind of stuff off-the-field to anger Browns fans. And even on top of that, the decision to hire Mangini was a horrible one in the first place. Mangini might be gone by this end of this month.

Also Gary Kubiak -- hasn't had a winning season in three years with the Texans. They are 1-2 so far this season. For example, here is a Sporting News article from today talking about how he is on the hot seat --
Kubiak Feeling The Heat In Houston - Vinnie Iyer - The Trenches - Sporting News

As for Fox, I won't be surprised if he is back at Carolina for the 2010 season unless they can get somebody like 61-year-old Mike Holmgren or 52-year-old Bill Cowher. Being that Cowher is so young, and being that Cowher and his family live right up the road in Raleigh, North Carolina (where both Cowher and his wife when to school), it's a decent possibility. If Fox does get fired, I wouldn't be surprised to see him hired as head coach by somebody else.

As for Childress, he was was on the hot seat back in 2007, but since then the Vikings have gone 18-9 (67%). In their last 10 games, the Vikings have gone 8-2 (80%).

Okay, I'm switching Marvin Lewis with Jeff Fisher and Childress with Norv Turner.

You guys still think I'm wrong about Fisher?

You are on to something with Turner, i just can't say they would ditch Fisher after everything he has been through with that organization. Maybe though, because Tennessee could be the worst team i have ever seen in my life.

they are saying Zorn will be there for the remainder of the season because he is the OC, quarterbacks coach, and Head Coach. Washington will never succeed as long as Dan Snyder is the owner.

The Redskins faithful are calling for his head. Heard on the news that he will no longer be calling the plays. Dan Snyder is a horses a**!
