Even before the game the LSU coaching staff thought Oklahoma was only the 5th best team the Tigers would face this season. Drop them to 6th now that Clemson is next. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/lsu-football/lsu-staff-oklahoma-2019/
Is it better to enjoy winning the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day,.. or to be in the playoffs and get the snot beat out of you?
I guess all the bowls are meaningless to you,.. I love being in the Rose Bowl Oklahoma players feel like shit, my Ducks will be singing, happy happy, joy joy, on January 1st,.. we reached our goal, Pac12 Champs, we weren't good enough this year for more, measured steps, next year's goal, the playoffs!
It's worked out that way since championships are decided on the field now. Need to go to 8 teams and use the big bowls as playoff spots. I enjoyed today's Peach Bowl more than any bowl game I've ever seen except for the 2 Sugar Bowls where LSU won National Championships.
You never really know who's going to win. Surely you have seen huge upsets before. That's why they play the games. In 2007 and 2011 the Giants barely made the playoffs as a wild card yet both years they upset the Patriots to win the Superbowl.
I actually thought the war chickens were the toughest we played. Their D is good, not sure why Steele couldn’t stop water when he was here, and if Nix wasn’t such a head case we may have lost that game. Bama wasn’t as close as the score and Ole Miss took advantage of a D that was taking the week off. Not sure anybody played us that physically regardless of the score. Typical fight with the chickens. I am worried about Faux Tigers but then again I was worried about the sooners too, at least for the first quarter.
There is just something about LSU/AU games that keep you on the edge of your seat regardless of the record. Some of the closest and hardest fought games I’ve watched have been against AU.
