It is that part of the NFL season that the hot seat gets hotter. In your opinion, which coach would you fire?

Two coaches come to mind; 1) Romeo Crennel, Browns. Despite their Monday night win, how can you have a team loaded with so much talent, have no heart? The Browns have had some injuries but serious, you can't have handed to you 4 turn overs and gain nothing for it. Browns were ear marked to be at least 11-5 and have shown nothing but pure disappointment. Romeo is gone.

    2) This will come as no surprise to my friend Islstl, Norve Turner, Chargers. If ever a team proved it ain't over till it's over, it is San Diego. With a freight train of talent locked in for a good while, this team with a comfortable consideration for the post season is praying for a deflated Bronco's team to lose just to gain position. A solid 14-2 team is now 4-6 with very little promise of getting past .500. Sorry Norve, it is time to go.

I may be wrong but up to now, it looks right. Who are your picks? It will be interesting to come back and see who remains in the hot seat.

    Marvin Lewis.

Crennel might keep his job because of the mid-season QB change. I doubt we will see many firings this offseason.

TB3 is correct about Crennel. He deserves another season with Quinn.

Marvin Lewis is first and foremost, he has last all control of that team.

Turner is next on my list as Cali just said, he has single-handedly ruined what was built, even with one of the top 3 QBs statistically in the league guiding his team.

Third is Rod Marinelli. 0-16? Are you kidding me? You should be able to luck into at least 1 win.

BTW, great thread. Firing inept SOBs is fun.

It is fan talk but most have said it is because Anderson was held on to for to long that Crennel deserves the slip.

The team was pretty bitter openly about sitting Anderson so there goes the "got no heart" factor. I don't believe Quinn alone can save him, the team as a whole gotta step up.

Cmon, I wanna fire somebody! :hihi: I fired my boss twice today but he just wouldn't leave.

Chargers announce today Norv will be back in 09.

They'll give him another shot with Merriman on board.

    Coaches who should be fired...

    1. Herm Edwards - As a Chief fan, I was ticked when I saw that they got this guy. I wasn't impressed with him when he was with the Jets (39-41), and now it's just embarrassing (14-26). I know the team is very young, but 1 win so far this year? C'mon... Even after a couple of years, I don't think he'll have much accomplished. He's another Dick Jauron, someone who makes people think there is hope, but there isn't; however, they seem to fool people into believing they're worth another shot.

    He needs to go.

    2. Marvin Lewis - In 6 years, the guy is 43-46. I know that the Bengals weren't that great when he got there, but he got them competitive and has since seemed to have lost the team. I also can't remember a team in recent years with more arrested players. I think this team hit its pennacle with Lewis back in 2005 (11-5), after going 8-8, 8-8, 11-5, 8-8, 7-9, and 1-8-1 so far this season.

    3. Norv Turner - Another guy cut from the Dick Jauron/Herm Edwards cloth. When I hear the guy speak, I convince myself that he's not a bad guy. He sounds nice, but as a head coach, they guy has very little to brag about. Other than his fluke season in 1999 (10-6) with the Redskins, the guy has accomplished next to nothing as a HC. Last season, he took over an already steamrolling team that was put together by Shottenheimer. He may stay on another year, but I still can't see him doing much better then.

    4. Jack Del Rio - I'd like him to be a possibility for the LSU defensive coordinator position that should become available at the end of the season.

But in all honesty, he's had a very on again, off again head coaching career that seems to always maintain mediocrity.

    5. Romeo Crennel - The guy has done next to nothing in 4 years (23-34), but Quinn may buy him some more time.

    6. Jim Haslett - One reason, New Orleans.

    Yep, Merriman ruined his season.

Having arguably the best running back in the NFL and one of the top 3 QB ratings shouldn't come close to offsetting the loss of Merriman.

    Going 6-10 is reasonable.

    Let's give him another chance!

to his defense, he did make the AFCCG last year.

    But I agree.

This should probably be the end for him.

    The Charger front office disagrees.
