Word going around that Larry Scott had a bad interview. Football Scoop is saying that Tim Salem out of UCF will interview with LSU. Coached a little bit of everything with QB coaching experience. Tim Salem - UCF Football
Kind of looks like a guy on the way down doesn't he? Recently demoted from offensive coordinator and RB coach to TE's and special teams at UCF.
I agree, but it looks like he is pretty versatile. He coached everything but the OL at UCF, and has ties to Florida. I trust the staff to make the right decision.
Looks like LSU is not looking to make a fast hire compared to a quality hire. We could see someone in before practice starts but I wouldn't be surprised if we go into Spring practice with one less coach either.
I wonder what this deliberation and lack of hiring a QB coach speaks about Gonzales' role as a coach. It could be that coaching QBs is already covered and Miles wants someone who won't step on Gonzales' toes. Or maybe they want to hire a tight end coach who's really an offensive line coach "in waiting".
:geaux: I heard his name mentioned last week on "Tiger Talk", a weekly radio show on 104.3 in Alexandria with hosts Lynn Rollins and Bart Schmolke. They mentioned Ensminger as someone being talked about when a guy called in to ask about replacements for Yano. Don't know where/who they (Rollins/Schmolke) got his name from. I know Ensminger was a QB Coach and Offensive Coord. at Auburn for Tuberville at one time and then got demoted to TE Coach. Don't know if this has got any legs or not. Bhelm, what was Ensmingers rep as a QB Coach while at Auburn? I would think he'd be more effective in that role since he played QB, rather than coaching TE's. :LSU231:
Haven't heard that but pulling his BIO from AUsports it look like he would be a good fit... Player Bio: Steve Ensminger - AUBURN OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE
