he was Oc at bowling green, and had a helluva offense. i always wondered why he wasn't better here. maybe he's more of offensive guru than a line coach?
i don't know how reliable this is but according to ruffin rodrigue on ott's show just now, stud was offered the OC job by porter and turned it down. doesn't appear to be leaving Baton Rouge. W........T..............F!!!!????:cuss: i back coach miles but the O line play has gotten worse and worse and i feel that keeping stud is a step backwards for the program and a possible first step in miles himself getting booted from baton rouge.
like how crowton is a better OC than a QB coach :hihi: but maybe you're right. still keeping coach stud is a bad move. hope my last post is wrong.
i don't know, i just think that everyone is on a different page, so to speak. ultimately, it's up to miles to communicate exactly what he wants from his team. you have a coaching staff that has a great history and players with four-and-five star talent, so why aren't we seeing more improvement? i'm not sure, and i'm also not so sure that hiring all of these new coaches is going to fix the problems -- especially if crowton is being forced to have them under his wing. but i'm NOT going to criticize miles before we see the full picture. he did us right with the malveto debacle, so i have absolute faith in what he does.
Money is the biggest reason was turning it down. It wouldn't surprise me if Miles has his hand in trying to get Stud the job.
Unfortunately, it takes the boosters type money to help in these types of contracts. I personally couldn't scratch that.:hihi:
