I've always liked Petino, but at best that situation was out of control,.. he's lucky, he got off light
Took longer than I thought for Pertrino to rubb off (pun not intended, but not really) on him. Now they can run the clubs together without fear of being seen. Good times
Got off light? How so? Note he's suspended for the first five ACC games of next season. That's a hell of a lot heavier than what Boeheim received. Four years probation? Not light. Loss of scholarships? Not light. The vacating of their national championship along with wins over a five year period? This will be the first time that's happened in basketball. Not light. Two show cause rulings where one is ten years. Ouch. Far, far from light. Returning monies earned for a four year span for conference revenue? Oh, that's heavy considering basketball is the bread winner at Louisville. There is one thing Pitino got exactly right. He said, "I didn't do anything." No chit, Sherlock. I think that's their point. **It should be enough to make Freeze, and Williams, really nervous right now. The ol' "I didn't know" isn't flying with this committee.
He got off light,.. with all those sanctions against the school, just about anybody else would have been fired.
Ah, you're making this about how UL handled Pitino, not how the NCAA handled the situation. Now we are adding Tom Jurich to the story—a man I couldn't hold less regard or respect for.
