Re: Coach O headed to LSU - Not Yet Official News Good news indeed. So next year we have a great staff and loaded with talent. Its going to be a good rebuilding year not like the painful disaster this year was. Folks this staff and talent coming in have what it takes to REALLY build a dynasty.
Re: Guilbeau: Orgeron to LSU holy thread merge batman ... i want to believe it as much as the next guy but in this crazy world of college football i just cant
damn, I'm jacked about this. An all star coaching roster, Miles and LSU definitly stepping up and going all out to win!! Now, if the chemistry is good and they can all mesh together
From WWL-TV Channel 4 (the CBS network affiliate in New Orleans, LA)... Source: Orgeron to LSU 09:34 PM CST on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 Scott Cody / Eyewitness News Ed Orgeron is headed to LSU. Expect an announcement perhaps as early as Friday, this according to a source close to the situation. Orgeron's new role will be as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. He will also coach the defensive line. According to the source Orgeron will also be the Tigers' highest paid assistant. The Louisiana native spent last season as the Saints defensive line coach. Before that he was the head coach at Ole Miss for three seasons. Orgeron is regarded as one of the nation's top recruiters and his apparent addition to Les Miles' staff comes on the heels of reports that Tennessee's John Chavis will be named the Tigers new defensive coordinator later this week as well. Miles has said he will not address any coaching changes until his team returns from Atlanta. http://www.wwltv.com/topstories/stories/wwl123008mlorgeron.224488a6.html
In the article about Chavis to LSU it stated he was going to be recieving $500K/yr with a multi-year contract... wonder what it took to bring O in?
Glenn Guilbeau works for Gannett Co. (a company headquarterd in the Washington DC metro area). Gannett owns USA Today and many other smaller newspapers across the country. In Louisiana, Gannett Co. owns Alexandria's Town Talk, Lafayette's Daily Advertiser, Monroe's News-Star, Opelousas' Daily World and Shreveport's Shreveport Times. That is why you see Glenn Guilbeau as the major sportswriter for all those newspapers. Gannett Co. does own some local television stations, but they don't own any in Louisiana. WWL-TV Channel 4 in New Orleans, LA is not owned by Gannett Co. It is owned by Belo Corp., a Dallas-based company that owns about 20 TV stations. WWL-TV Channel 4 is not connected to Glenn Guilbeau. We have two different media outlets breaking the Ed O to LSU story.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-curtain-for-pete-carroll-and-the-usc-trojans great writeup on O
Which makes it that much more credible now... atleast we're finally hearing news... and really good news at that.
Anybody ever see O at a practice? I saw him at Saints camp this year in Jackson, and I was blown away. There will be no taking off plays, or bad attitudes on defense in the future.:thumb::geauxtige
