This team is in a desperate spot. When I say desperate, I mean one snap away from having T.C McCartney run the offense. Miles will need to do something to simplify the offense for JJ, because JJ is who we've got left right now, and ultimately, the success or failure of this team falls on HIS (Miles') shoulders.

BTW, it can be done. There is precedent. I can remember when Jamie Howard went down w/ a season-ending shoulder injury, and Melvin Hill stunk it up so bad, that Gerry DiNardo was forced to turn to simplifying the offense for a true freshman named HERB TYLER.

Les Miles is a better coach than Gerry DiNardo, and JJ is a more gifted athlete than Herb Tyler. This can be done.

i don't disagree with anything you just said but i would just emphasize the team is in a desperate spot and it's not like another coach could come in here and make JJ look like peyton with no problem.

i was in school during those days you speak of so i remember, but the offense was very simple and tyler and JJ have something in common, if they get in trouble, they can run.

btw, i remember back when it seemed like the only pass play we had fr herb was the bootleg pass to the TE either savoie or lafleur. we ran it all the time and for some reason it worked alot.

"Grow up" would be more accurate.

And we went 6-6 and to the Independence Bowl behind Jamie Howard, and later, true freshman Herb Tyler. Our expectations were a lot lower then, of course, and I proudly drove my purple and gold butt up to Shreveport to watch Dinardo whip Nick Saban's Michigan State team.

Maybe we will get lucky and that can happen again. Then some of the "true fans" will decline to renew their season tickets while "those idiots are in charge", and I can pick up another 6-8 seats in TS. They should come in handy as we win another NC within the next three years.

    With Les Miles.

Now let me see, this Ole Miss team is the same team that beat the Heisman winning QB and team that more than likely will go to the MNC. Yep a freshman QB is certainly ready to play at that level for most of a game.

Granted there have been more than a fist full of bad decisions and breaks this season, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The light is the very same guy that has given us 3 - 11 win seasons, a SEC Championship, and a MNC, Coach Les Milles.

Dude.............I'm in complete agreement. NOBODY with any football smarts thought we had a chance of going real far after we lost Perriloux. It wasn't Mile's fault that RP was an azz. I'm still glad Miles canned him. We got two crystals in 6 yrs (1 thanks to Miles). Now these guys are trashing him. Apparently, alot of people don't remember how Alabama's starting QB looked just a couple of seasons ago. Now he may get a crystal.

this is the same ole miss team that went 0-8 in the SEC last year.

oh and by the way, im sick of this fresham quarterback excuse. Chris Leak was a true freshman and came into Tiger Stadium and beat a national championship team in 2003.

If freshman QBs were meant to take the reigns of power house teams in brutal conferences more teams would be doing it. Oh wait they don't, they only get down to their freshman QBs when they have no choice, for the most part.

And the UF team Ole Miss beat also went 9 -4 last year and may win a MNC this yr. You can't compare one season to the next.

Also, that freshman Qb, that beat us in 2003, just who was our coach at the time and just how good did UF turn out to be that yr?
