This is a pretty big move by the NCAA.

I think it's BS but it doesn't affect us so we'll let Texas focus their attention on it.

I think it is unfair. If the "coach-in-waiting" is on the staff of a team, he should be able to recruit to the same extent the other coaches on the team can.

I'm sure that all Texas has to do is re-work his contract to remove any head coach in waiting designation and verbiage. It sounds like a silly rule to me any way because there's only one head coach on the team...even though they may have "co cordinators" or something.

I'm shocked....shocked I tell you that the NCAA would have a silly rule that seems like it was designed for a particular school or coach..

(It sounds to me like someone who's competing with Texas for recruits has an "in" with someone at the NCAA to me.)

That will take about a nanosecond to circumvent. Thanks, NCAA for focusing on the big picture.

wonder when the NCAA will get around to addressing the practice of hiring professional coaches that are contracted to occupy Grad Assistant positions?

I hope that never happens...that's a can of worms we here at LSU don't really want to open because after that the NCAA will probably go after LSU for having over 90,000 coaches in the stadium each and every Saturday night !!!

    :hihi:.
