I don't see that happening. I'd love to be wrong though, he is as good an offensive mind as there is. However, I don't see why leave Bama(despite Saban's personality), for LSU. You're at the prominent program in the country, which truthfully he is as big a reason as Saban is for their recent dominance. Lane is the reason Bama is so much more diverse, as HC Saban deserves credit for knowing he has to find someone who is part of the newer style of play calling.

Switching teams IMO also doesn't look good for him in terms of trying to land a HC job, which is his ultimate goal.

Hard to believe Kiffin unless as a HC. This season he will surely get some serious offers. Jimbo sounds like your huckleberry coming down the stretch.
LSU has eyes for two coaches

Sounds like a repeat of last year. Wonder how much Jimbo's agent gets out of FSU this time?

The article said, Jimbo just signed an extension through 2022. He also has only a 5 mil buyout so not as painful as some contracts go. The burden of proof lies with Orgeron though. If he speedboats the next 2 games, and he should, it's going to be hard to hit the, we want Jimbo, button and live to tell the tale.

With the talent LSU has on this roster, it is likely that whomever LSU hired as the interim would have made it difficult. The fact is, LSU has the talent to beat every team on their schedule...probably except Bama, which they almost did anyway.

However, coming in as an interim and giving them more rest and basically selling them on the fact that they had nothing to lose, is far easier than being the guy going forward. Let's face it. Coach O had no pressure. The season was basically over, barring a miracle. Miracle didn't happen, but he has them playing much better.

Being "the Man" is far more pressure on everyone involved. Coach O may have earned the job, but ultimately, I don't think he is a good long term hire. If you can't get the guys in your first tier, I guess you could do worse than Coach O, but I don't see Coach O as the Saban killer...just don't see it.

I like O if he wins out (winning w one hand tied behind his back) and brings a good OC. I don't want Kiffy as OC and think he's overrated (got shutdown by Aranda).

I can understand not wanting him on principle but he's not overrated. First of all, he's the same OC who put up 434 yards last year against the same talent. This year, they put up 323 and it's not just Aranda. Oeaux is a D-minded guy....they have his full attention and so does Aranda. Your D is #9 overall and #1 in Opponent TD. If an OC doesn't have a boatload of success against that unit, it doesn't make them overrated. Play the game again and you'll see the adjustments.

323 yards with a freshman QB? Overview my friend. Kiffin has the Tide leading in total offense and points scored per game in the SEC.

Since Miles was fired it has been Jimbo's job to turn down. Don't see that changing.

But if he does, should go to O for at least a season to grow a better list of names? I think he is better than what could be left, so why take a downer just for the sake of hiring outside the firm?
