That's an old one, but a great one.

There is more to being HC than x's and o"s. I am all for handing the keys to coach O and giving him a 2-3 year extension, if it goes well. Coach O has a lot of upside (not only with the fans, but the players and the recruits and the current staff). Getting the correct HC is about the right "fit" as anything else. In my opinion, Coach O is a great fit. Look at Saban and TCU's HC's. Both are defensive minded but have figured out the Offense. I don't subscribe to the idea that LSU has to have an offensive minded coach. If coach O gives the keys to an OC, LSU will be just fine. If Coach O wins out and takes LSU to the Sugar Bowl, I don't know how LSU justifies not giving coach O a chance (there is no one more passionate about lsu and willing to do ALL he can to make sure LSU is great). My guy is Jeff Brohm. If he was hired as OC, I think LSU would be in very very good hands

Auburn will go to the sugar unfortunately unless they drop 2 more and LSU wins out. And they won't lose to Alabama A&M. The best LSU can hope for is 3rd in the SEC West. Unless they just take highest ranked team and LSU manhandles Florida and A&M and Auburn gets blown out by Alabama. I don't know how that all works, we will have to get @islstl in here to explain it.

I tell you what though if by some chance that happens I don't see how you can let a guy go that takes you to the Sugar after the way this season started. Would be interesting to see LSU in the Sugar vs Michigan.

how is that? If Auburn loses to Bama, and LSU wins out, Auburn will have 3 loses in the SEC (lsu, a &m and UGA), lsu will have two: Bama and Auburn. Florida will have 4 loses, (lsu, UT, Arky and Bama if in SECCG), but at least 3, and one to LSU. LSU will have two SEC loses, LSU goes to the Sugar if they win out

Playing Florida St would be interesting. Jimbo already lost to Herman and his AAC squad. That would be some shit, lose to Eaux and then take his job.

That would definitely make for interesting discussion . Maybe Alleva will make it a winner take all bowl where the winning HC gets the job.

Coach O just has to hire the right OC and LSU is set up to win for a long time under Coach O

It's been suggested already that Coach O wants to get a top OC and Coach Ensminger wants to go back to being a position coach.

Uhm... Either I was watching football this season in some alternate reality, or you're mistaken about who Auburn has lost to... In the reality I am in, it was Clemson that beat Auburn and not LSU. So that gives them 2 losses in the SEC, not 3. Just sayin'....
