Anybody here thinks he is a tad bit overrated or just not ready for that game speed last night?

Not ready. He's a man among boys though not last night.

Been a little too full of himself.... (a helluva lot)

A friend of mine in a group text mentioned that yesterday and we all dismissed him as crazy.

    Today, I don't think he's crazy.

    ESPN: "South Carolina defensive end
Jadeveon Clowney smiled at reporters late
Thursday night and (said): “You can ask all the questions about conditioning,” he said. “Let’s get to it."
    ...
He was sucking wind. He didn’t get one sack. He cramped up.
Clowney said he had a stomach virus the night before, and it was still ailing him the morning of the season opener.
    ...
“I was pretty tired,” Clowney said. “It’s just one of those games"

the guy Clowney went up against last night, OT James Hurst, is projected as a 1st-2nd R pick, but...people are talking Clowney like #1 overall

Also there is the "That Clown over in South Carolina" thread just a few down from this one

I thought he was sick last week?

Anyway, my guess is that he has a Mingo type season. A bit of a drop-off buy still a high 1st round pick.

I mentioned his taking plays off last year and him not being in the game many plays and our game against them was more than midway through the season.

It really bothered me when he took a play off last year. He didn't even touch the OT backed off slowly and put his hands up and batted a ball down. Reward for his non effort.

He's a bit overrated, but that's because the media is constantly billing him as a Heisman winner and #1 overall pick. It's too easy to pick him as the best player and people often overlook his weaknesses. He did seem a little tired/weak yesterday, maybe due to sickness but we'll get a better look next week against UGA.

He is getting double and triple teamed alot. My guess is that would take alot out of anyone.

I'm not saying that he shouldn't be criticized for his conditioning, I'm just saying....

My take on Clowney. He has no heart, no drive, no work ethic. And depends solely on his talent just like a certain quarterback for LSU did a few years ago. That stupid fat ass Jason Whitlock is on PTI saying Clowney is bored and he will bounce back and win the Heisman. I hate Jason Whitlock so f'n much, I hope he is on a plane crash, and all the survivors vote to eat him.
