Well, I just hope those who doubt CLM’s ability will finally give him and the coaching staff a little more respect. This is a really, really deep and dominate team and it is a result of what CLM and the staff have been able to accomplish. Their evaluation of potential talent, their ability to keep the team focused and coach this team is really astounding. And say what you might about past game performances and clock management, CLM is one hell of a coach. Geaux Tigers! ldskule:
This is one of the better staffs not only in the SEC, but in the nation. We'll see in two weeks how good they are. :tigereye:
He & Kathy were called on stage last night when Gov Jindal made his acceptance. Said every 4 years when he runs, LSU wins a National Championship. Praised Miles a lot. Was good to see another leader in our State do so. Jindal also said the first time he won, DURING his acceptance speech we were still playing Auburn and he had to make them turn off the tv's in the room so people would listen.
As long as Les Miles is running the show at LSU, we will be nationally relevant. Before all is said and done, he'll end up the greatest coach in LSU history IMO. He was asked what he would like his legacy to be once his career at LSU is over, and the very first thing he said was, (paraphrasing) "I want to be remembered for graduating players and giving them the tools for success in life on and off the field". The way he deals with adversity, his recruiting, how he represent the university and you can tell he genuinely cares for the student-athletes. Really seems to have his priorities in place. A class act all the way and I'm proud to have him represent us all.
We've been seeing how good they are for MANY weeks, even years. The outcome of the Bama game doesn't change that. :thumb:
This:thumb: Isolate on CLM throughout the CBS coverage and you see a man at full capacity, in his element, working with intensity and with style & class. Gone are the snide/smarmy throw-away comments from the sportscasters; I posted months ago that the media would "fall all over themselves, piling onto the bandwagon that is CLM's LSU..." and, well, MAKE ROOM, PEEPS; here come some more! We are watching a legendary season unfold. Enjoy!:helmet:
It is quite evident that Miles has addressed the clock management issue. CLM to staff: "Let's beat everybody by 2 TD's so I don't have to worry bout that Dang clock thing"... the rest is history in the making.
I am in the minority here, but I don't think Les ever had clock mismanagement issues. Others did and he took the blame as head coach (as he ultimately should do).
