Democrats are some interesting folks. They can figure out how to get on the free bus and go down town to sign up for their free monthly check. How to sign up for an get their free phone. How to sign up for and get their free food card. How to get low rent housing get and help with their electric bill. How to register to vote and get to the polls to vote. However, amazingly they can't figure out how to get an id, simply amazing.

How can they even go to a bank? I don't believe that 21 million adult legal American citizens don't have some form of I'D. Even if a person for whatever reason can't get a driver's license there is nothing to prevent them from getting an I'D from the state they live in. Costs about $20 and you can get one at Amy DMV.

Mine had I think a 6th grade education, still managed to turn in a great career as Hank Hill long before there was a Hank Hill (delivering propane/butane) and then retired from Ashland out near the point. Hardcore Democrat. His oldest and only son went on to LSU and became the assistant DA and is very Republican, the arguments between them were epic and fun to watch as I grew up.

The point is, if my grandfather, who was VERY old school and extremely hard headed and stuck in his ways just as I am sure many if not all of yours were could find a way to get a damn license or an ID then I find it hard to believe that anyone today can't find a way. Sure you will have the onesies and twosies here and there that have no family or whatever but I bet they have a church or a friend or someone. Just doesn't make sense.

What is the alternative? Like I asked @LaSalleAve if you are here you get to vote? Is that it? I dont agree and fully support having to prove that you are eligible to vote regardless of what party you support.

And since we are on this topic I think it is important that we actually shift it to the REAL problem and that is not enough people vote and that goes for BOTH parties. So many have this "I don't give a shit" attitude and it really pisses me off. I vote EVERY chance I get. Seeing what happened in Iraq when they were finally given the chance to do so and to do so where their vote would actually count and not re-elect Saddam regardless of who they voted for was a real eye opener. Just another nail in the coffin of this great nation.

Here are just two studies that show how minorities and younger voters turnout has been affected by the voter ID laws. Further many of the laws are specific about not letting college students vote at their University, instead having to go home to vote. This is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to limit certain demographics from turning out to vote. Ironically enough it effects two demographics which are in the corner of the dems. Again, are you ever going to provide any proof of your point? Here are two links as evidence of mine. You have nothing, not one damn shred of evidence.

They don't care man. They would rather legislators waste money on bullshit to prevent people from voting because it hurts their candidates. Instead of dealing with real issues again republicans prove time and time again they are living in their own little bubble.

I'm not against improvements, Winston. I am against these laws because they are intended to reduce voter turnout and most heavily effect minorities and younger voters. Like I've said to the other guys, a recent study turned up 31 cases of verified voter fraud out of a billion votes cast. Further, out of those 31 cases, something like 28 of them were cases of mail-in ballots that couldn't have been prevented by Voter ID laws. Also, with technology being what it is today anyone could make themselves a fake ID and SS card. So my point is, why do we need them if there wasn't an issue to begin with? I hear what you are saying regarding the need for ID in many other instances and if we had a problem with in-person voter fraud then it would seem more practical and logical. I personally have no problem showing my ID but these laws do not effect people like me, they effect college students and minorities, both of which are democratic voting blocs. Given that we've had so few cases of in-person voter fraud it just comes across as an attempt to limit voter turnout.

With a lot of these guys you are exactly right, LaSalle. Facts do not matter to them.
