So apparently Cliff Harris was pulled over around 4:30 am going 118mph. On a suspended license. Curious to see how Kelly handles it. Cant imagine him not playing in the opener.
Those Dallas Cowboys will do anything to get in the media spotlight. Besides, that's way past Cliff's bedtime.
That is not the worst of it. Car was a rental and paid for by an Oregon Employee. Her story doesn't really doesn't cut it if it was in fact her who called in. Cliff Harris Rental Car Paid for by University Employee | KEZI
Word in Eugene is as long as nothing else comes out (Which as of now isn't likely), he'll play. The car was rented by a university employee, but Harris paid for it. Nothing concrete there though. Not sure if that'll be considered an extra benefit, but technically he couldn't rent a car on his own, because of his age, and suspended license. It looks like the woman agreed to do it for the other person who was with him, and believed Harris wouldn't be driving. Since it was so late (or early) Sunday morning, I'm thinking maybe he was the either the only sober person to drive, or was awake enough to drive. That's pure speculation, but I know when I was 20, I did things like that (I never drove 118 miles an hour though!). All I know is it's a stupid thing to do. He's an All-American with 1st round NFL talent. He should know better, but his lack of maturity has been the knock on him since he came to Oregon. Hopefully this makes him grow up a bit. He could piss his future away if continues to make these kinds of decisions. We'll see what Chip does, but considering what's going on in the NCAA right now, this is small potatoes, and should be treated as such. That's of course if it stays as it is right now, speeding with a suspended license.
Not sure about that. I would like both our teams to be at full strength but I don't think it's small potatoes just because of what is going on at Ohio state duckfan. It's cliff Harris. Opening up against LSU. This will get coverage. Better hope Kelly can take the heat off and let it blow over without having to suspend him.
We'll see. I think if it stays what it initially is, it's a minor violation for the use of the car. It's not a NCAA violation for traffic citations. It'll come down to Cliff Harris being honest with Chip Kelly when they meet to talk about it. He's suspended and kicked starting players off the team for DUI's, derogatory tweets, etc.
I'm not sure what I would do. Kelly cant just do nothing at this point can he? man what a bad decision. hope he plays. no excuses.
