Thanks for all your replies, and they are greatly appreciated. Question...what would most LSU fans say was the strengh of the 2012 team (and weakness)?
My opinion, early in the year losses on the O line and inconsistent play at QB and WR made our offense painful. We seemed to improve quite a bit in the passing game later in the year, particularly from the Bama game on. Later on, it seemed like we had trouble stopping the pass, although I wonder if we may have lost a slight edge in our focus and enthusiasim. Not much, but the difference between great and average play is razor thin in the SEC
Our defense, as usual, gave our weak offense a chance to win games. We allowed 14 or less in 5 games while only allowing more than 21 in two- one of those was Townson. Do you know where Townson is? Neither do I.
In a nutshell our strength is having the talent to move the ball on offense and stop on defense any team in the country. Our weakness has been getting the talent to play to that level on both sides of the ball for a complete game. Given nearly a month to heal, as well as focus and plan on a single opponent, the chances of seeing our weak side diminish greatly if they are hungry.
Another Clemson fan Hello I have to say the account creation just about killed me - putting the figure together is tough on an iPhone My hope is twofold - LSU plays us like they played Auburn Our OC calls a smarter game than he called against South Carolina BTW - we have a secret weapon - I am not going to the game - lost every Peach or Chick fil A Bowl I have attended - not that I am superstitious
All of us on the LSU side have a similar secret weapon, only better. LSU has won every single Peach or Chick-fil-a Bowl that we individually attended, watched on TV, listened to on the radio or ignored until it was over and read about it later. At 5-0 LSU is the only school to be undefeated with multiple appearances in the bowl.
I expect a good game. We're gonna rock but I don't expect a blow out. I wanna see a great, edge of the seat or on your feet, 4 quarters of football. LSU win of course. Here's to a great game.
Strengths, Punter, Tailbacks, and great individual talent in all phases. I don't think I have seen LSU play a complete game all season with the exception of the Washington game. We have a great middle linebacker in Kevin Minter, we have a great defensive end in Sam Montgomery. Mingo will be great in the NFL as a linebacker, and if you guys start doubling Logan and Freak Johnson, Mingo could have a nice game. The freshman Jalen Mills is a really good corner, and I think Clemson could have a very nice match up on the outside against either Jalen Collins or Tharold Simon. Simon is really good at press coverage but if he doesn't have help over the top he can be picked on. If Clemson cannot stop the run, it's going to be a very long day for the Orange and Purple Tigers. We have 4 tailbacks and I don't know if Blue will be available but could be 5 tailbacks that could start for any team in the nation. Our weaknesses, obviously a bipolar passing game. Sometimes we are good, alot of the times we aren't. We have also been struggling with covering the deep ball, and teams can check down on us all day long.
