theres history of heart disease on my stepfather's side. if i took steroids thatd be like suicide. (paraphrase) i spit my drink out as soon as he said it. he actually used the word misremembered again when they asked what his response was when pettitte named him and mcnamee under oath. what a complete p.r. disaster. its still pretty damned funny with a hint of sadness. im not gonna be surprised if scott boras has a press conference to claim manny was having problems ovulating. all these guys that got busted were his clients.
anyone catch him saying that he wouldn't use steroids because heart disease runs in his family? Then he says his STEP dad died of a heart attack? Good play rocket. Maybe he doesn't realize how dumb that is. Oh and Tirk, good use of the word "hubris". Nothing like a good greek refrence:thumb:
W&J played some of the interview this morning, including the stepdad's heart disease part. This was one of the most ridiculous interviews I'd ever heard, and the heart disease part sent it over the edge. He said that a needle with his DNA with traces of PEDs was also "impossible". Not fabricated, impossible.
In that point you are correct. I should have said Bonds. Either way the truth will set them free. I was wondering if anyone else caught that in his interview. Clemens just keeps digging his hole deeper. I mean heart disease in his step dad, really Roger is that your final answer.
I've always been taught that once you are in a hole its probably a good idea to stop digging. I've only seen one story pointing out the step-father issue: He even suggested Tuesday that "common sense" had to tell you he wouldn't take steroids, because of a history of heart trouble in his family. One of the people he cited was a stepfather who died of a heart attack. As if somehow they weren't just related by marriage, but by blood as well. Gee whiz, we sure missed the boat, it all makes perfect sense now. Thanks for clearing that up Rog: However, one of the examples of heart conditions in his family that he pointed to in the interview was the death of his stepfather. On Thursday, Clemens clarified his comment in a statement: "During the short interview I mentioned my concern about the effect steroids could have on the heart, and I talked about my brother and stepfather. Because I mentioned my stepfather, many people have questioned my sincerity. The reality is that my stepfather was like a father to me and watching him die from a sudden heart attack was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Those memories are vivid in my mind to this day." Roger Clemens, on Mike and Mike in the Morning, bashes book, holds firm to denials of drug use - ESPN
Does Clemens actually think anyone believes that drivel? Is he that fuggin stupid? I guess so. :insane:
