I didnt get to see it but Clemens has no choice but to deny it. He has painted himself into a corner and he cant admit it now. What good would come for Clemens if he admits it now? He would most certainly be excluded from the HOF and it could hurt his future earnings. Granted, both these things are iffy anyway but admitting it would put the final nail in his coffin and disgrace him even more, if thats possible. I guess he could go on the religious circuit of repentant liars selling speaking engagements. Maybe council young people about roids? He is screwed no matter what he does at this point.
After the Mike and Mike show there is another show on ESPN2 that was interviewing the writer of that book. He sounds like just as big an idiot as Clemens. They kept asking him if there was anything new in the book or if it was just a more detailed retelling of what is known. He kept saying there was tons of new stuff, but when pressed on what new info, he could not even provide a teaser of new material. Don Imus? He is still on the air?
In a time where the entire MLB is associated with steroids the entire era will be in question. Clemens should have taken the same approach as Petit and A Rod, the fans are more forgiving of being, at least somewhat honest. All the players, like Clemens and McGwyer, continue to be bashed by the fan base, because we know we are being lied to.
the point is not he should have admitted it moreso he shouldnt deny it and look a fool which he has done so brilliantly. remain in hiding like mcgwire and just play golf. its not so bad yet his ego has distorted his vision of reality. mcgwire never lied. he did the best thing for him, all things considered.
Wait, did I just hear him say that he'd never take steroids becuase heart trouble runs in his family--and then give his stepdad's heart trouble as an example? Awesome!
