Boy, ya'll are fast. I was just about to post this. I can't say that I'm surprised. The Yankees pitching staff has been beat up.

Good move for him. Now the Yankees have two pitchers on the roster. But they're still the Yankees, so I wouldn't count them out. Close, but not completely.

Well, if the Yankees want to burn a couple more million for a 45 year old pitcher accustomed to throwing 5 innings per game the past 3 seasons, then let Steinbrenner think he's doing that team good.

    Won't matter....

    GEAUX RED SOX!!!!!

I was anti-Rocket when he was with the Yankees. Although I grew up cheering for the Yankees (Mattingly/Winfield) and respect all the tradition, a Steinbrenner documentary had me hatin everything Yankee. That Piazza incident also was fun to rip at Clemens for (even though it could've happened to 'almost' anyone).

I slowly warmed up to him as an Astro and eventually became a big fan. He seemed like an alright guy and produced better than ever. That one year his ERA was under 2.00 the entire year and I doubt he ever had a better ERA than with the Stros.

I don't always pay that close attention to the MLB playoffs after the Astros are out and football is heating up. I did watch a lot of the Red Sox championship playoffs and it almost seemed mythical. Going through the Yankees was the only way and "down 0-3" just seems like the beginning of a story old people will be talking about in 50 years.

Money doesn't seem like it should be that big of a deal to Clemens but $28M for the Yankees vs. $18M for the Red Sox is a big gap. The chance of being the Yankee savior was bigger for Clemens. They need pitching and the team is under achieving. They have talent and should still be able to make the playoffs if the pitching staff stays healthy. Beckett vs. Clemens would be a great story and matchup, especially if it happened in the playoffs.

I'll still pull for the Red Sox but it's more of a sit back and watch the drama unfold with that rivalry. MLB just wouldn't be the same without it.

Considering he is the all-time Cy Young award winner and last year had a 2.30 ERA at the age of 43, they probably feel pretty good about it. Just as every team in the league(including Boston) would have felt had he considered playing for them. Hate to see him leave Houston, but I hated it even more when our bats did not support him. At least the yanks can swing the pine.

Astros totally miss the boat once again.....Clemen's agent said the Stros and Red Sox were not in the mix because they did not want Clemens to join the team until June/July.....I can understand the Red Sox not in immediate need of his services...but damn the Astros need him big time....we got no nobody we can truly count on past Oswalt in the rotation. Unbelievable. Pupura at it again.

In a division that is so up in the air, this is unforgivable.

At this point, there is more excitement generated by a junior high girl's softball game then there is at minute maid park.

    Exactly.

Still not sure who to be pissed with more, Hunsicker for quitting on this team or Pupura for being so inept in this most important role.
