Where does all the animosity for Jennings come from? I have nothing against BH personally, I just don't see any gravitas within him. I think he played more than he deserved to play this year, and Miles did this team a disservice by caving to the pressure and starting him against Auburn. I think he is basically a taller, stronger, faster Russell Shepard at this point. He may be a great qb in the future, I however do not see it in my crystal ball, I see a guy who won't get the mental aspect of being a qb, and just another tailback given the ball to try and play quarterback.
I think that would be enough examples for me to decide how to recruit a qb. Would it be that difficult?
National Championship dual threat qb's, Tee Martin, Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Vince Young, and Winston. This is also going to be a future list of past shitty NFL quarterbacks.
Jennings may understand the playbook more, which he should since he has two years in the program vs. Harris' one and a spring, but there is absolutely nothing that I've seen from Jennings that leads me to believe his mental QB acuity is any higher than Harris. You're basing your entire Harris bashing on one impossible start. AJ came off the bench in that same game and did nothing. BH came off the bench and played lights out after AJ threw up all over himself against lesser competition. Nevertheless, AJ has played nearly the entire season, and while the rest of the team has progressed (minus the kicking game, that part has taken a step back), AJ is stuck in neutral and probably still staring at Dural two days later. Harris is in the coaches' doghouse for whatever reason, fine, so be it. But don't give me that mental aspect bullshit. A lot of folks said the same thing about Welter, and amazingly the defense got better the more he rode the pine. Come on, man, you see the same game I see.
Disagree, had Brandon Harris started this year, we don't beat UF, Ole Miss, and we damn sure don't beat any of the teams Jennings lost to. If you haven't seen Jennings get better since he was benched for Harris vs Auburn (save the Arkansas debacle although everyone played like shit) we just see different things I guess. I thought had his team mates made plays when he needed them mainly the receivers minus Dural, LSU beats Alabama and possibly Arkansas because it was low scoring. He's gotten better with his legs, and I bet he is throwing the ball away more than you think he is.
That's nothing more than a wild ass guess. You have no idea how accelerated Harris' development would have been had he been given more playing time. And since AJ sucked in every game we very well may have won even if Harris started and sucked. We won games in spite of QB play this year not because of it. Had Jennings stayed in against NMSU we would have lost that one too.
I hear ya, man, but we'll just have to disagree. Never know if Harris would've beaten UF, Ole Miss, Bama, etc. because he was never given the opportunity to show he's prgressed. AJ has been given every opportunity and he still hasn't shown he has it between the ears. That's just the way I see it.
About the ONLY area I've seen Jennings improve on throughout this year is running with the football. His passing skills have not sharpened at all. He's developed no touch. I know Quinn dropped about 10 passes but still.. he's a terrible passer right now. He was clutch at the end against Florida and he followed that up with what? He threw the Alabama game away instead of running for a first down and potential touchdown..
