I know there was a lot of dissappointment when Myers committed to SC and we did not get Oher or McNeil. The coaching staff (saban's) wanted 2 to 3 offensive linemen. However with the way things are going and the low number of available schollies, maybe loading up on the (skill) positions will allow us some flexibility next year. I also believe that the one OL commit we have is a difference maker. He is listed as a 3 star on rivals, but there are a lot of people that believe he is as good as anyone. I saw his highlights from the Texas playoffs and he was dominant all over the field as a pulling guard or straight up on the line. We have some depth going into this year at OL. So lets all get excited about Jackson and LaFell and hope it continues.

We're stocked along the offensive line I believe, Myers was not that big of a loss IMO. Unless he won the starting RT job this year he probably wouldn't have had much of an impact here with Herman Johnson at LSU. Guard was a much bigger concern and Black gives us a guy who could develop into a stud there. I would've loved to sign Scott along with Black, but losing McNeil and Myers was not as big of a loss as I think most wanted to believe.

I believe Dandy Don wrote something along the lines of that. About how Meyers probably, in order to come here and really get playing time, would have to agree to redshirt first. He cited our depth as the cause of it.

I stated in an earlier post that I would have liked to get another LB or OL in this class, but I think I'll take that statement back. I'd still like another LB/DE--Jean-Francois would certainly take care of that need--and another DB.

LB we need a real deal head hunter at LB and we could also use more depth there also.

A "big-bodied" LB like Lionell Turner would be great. Jean-Francois fits that bill 6'3", 241!

Wouldn't want that SOB running at me full steam!

I bet Myers ends up redshirting at USC. It is much easier for a guy to come in as a D-lineman and start right away than it is for an o-lineman. If he was much better physically than the tackles at USC I could maybe see him playing next year, but he won't be a lot better physically than the studs they have their already, just like he wouldn't have been here either.

Where ever Ciron Black ends up, I will not be able to hear his name without thinking of Harry Potter. Sounds too much like Sirius Black.
