Just have Cincinnati assemble a team from as many players from the 2019 LSU championship team. I see no downside to this plan.
Ja'Marr Chase responding to a question at mid week presser: "I could tell you, honestly, one of my best stories ever: Les Miles told me I couldn't play receiver when I was coming out of high school," Chase said. "That was something I had on my shoulders growing up. Les Miles told me he thought I could play cornerback, I wasn't really in full position at receiver yet. So I just kept working on my craft, offseason, waking up early in the mornings to work out. I just kept focused."
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/bengal...ay-receiver-during-recruitment-180552543.html Chase's story is the second time an NFL star has said Miles initially wanted him to play a different position in college. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was first recruited as a tight end by Miles and LSU before he chose Mississippi State and the chance to play quarterback.
I mean it not like it is uncommon. Devin White was a converted RB. That worked for him. Trevon Diggs was a wide receiver like his bro until Saban said he needed to play CB. it can work out to chance positions but this one would have been a terrible decision. I wonder what others actually made the bad decision to switch positions. We don’t hear about those.
