All other things being equal, if I have a choice I'd rather take the player that really wants to be here. Bama, Auburn, Florida and others are always going to have high quality talent whether it be Richardson or some other player. I'd be happy with either one, but I feel more comfortable signing a player that really wants to be here.
Well Michael has already missed a few visits. So what does that say about his desire to be here? I mean really, nobody's going to committ unless they really want to be here. Especially a five star with every school in the country beating down his door.
I see no purpose in going after Richardson with the main reason being to keep him from Bama. Unless he is a very rare player which doesnt seem to be the case.
This stated purpose is pure supposition on the part of one fan on another site. Valid or not, the real reasons as to why the coaches have not offered CM are irrelevant, except to them. The relevant fact here is that he does not have an offer. Regardless of speculation of TR switching his commitment, or our staff being satisfied with what they have in hand already, CM does not have an offer. There is a chance he could later in the fall, but does anyone really believe that? And why? Just because his hype has blown up lately? He goes to one camp(not LSU's) where he impresses and now he is the greatest thing since sliced bread? IF LSU was as important to him as he would like the public to believe, he would have been at LSU earning an offer, instead of at Florida, earning nice press. Another thing to consider besides the commitment of Ford and Pratt, is the commitment LSU made to them. They showed they had what it takes to get a committable offer and LSU came through. CM has not done this, for whatever speculative reason. This really should be the focus of this recruiting drama.
Im just saying, I dont see recruiting Richardson so Bama doesnt get him as a legit reason. Thats all I was commenting on. Ford and Pratt are more than good enough for me. Im not one that feels we need Michael or Richardson when there are more bigger needs. IMO Id only take either back if none of the guys we need want to commit. Then you take the best guy out there if they are still there and interested in LSU. If the coaches do take either Richardson or Michael then Ill trust their reasons and welcome them aboard. I cant wait till the season finally kicks off!
Beaumont West Brook 50 Beaumont Ozen 7 CM ran 12rushes 140yards 11.67per carry 3TD's...one was a 17 yard TD pass. Not bad for a 1st game. It's the season opener, and Im sure these guys have a little rust to knock off. http://www.chron.com/sports/highsch...&Sport=1&ID=19310&TeamID=115&SearchType=Teams
This is the little snipnet rivals includes on Michael in the top100 rankings: "The most talked about player – period – at the loaded FBU Top Gun Camp" That was the huge camp in Florida held this past summer
