About the only thing our staff does that makes me scratch my head consistently is how they go about offering people. Obviously they know more than I do and I am wrong but in some cases I just dont understand.

There's got to be more to it, maybe a timing issue.

Let me know if I'm mistaken, but didn't Williford get a CO after impressing the coaches at camp? Don't most agree that Michael hasn't recieved an offer because he didn't make it to a camp which kept our coaches from being able to evaluate him?

If he is all LSU why would he skip our camp while making other big time camps this summer (i.e. Florida)?

    Great point!

Plus its not a position of need. Unless he proves to be a rare back, then I see no need to take him. Im sure he is very good, as good or a lil better than what we have but we have two very good backs. So unless he is head and shoulders above I see no reason to take him. There are other positions of more need than RB. Some people are too focused on the star rating at the end, sorry guys but its "need" players more than the "want" players. If Michael doesnt get an offer its on him for not coming to camp sooner.

Yeah, these are good points and are probably the main reasons why CM does not have a CO. It still seems a little odd, though, that we are offering a 3-star who is still deciding between us and Tulsa, and not a 5-star who gets the ball in the end zone. Don't think you can have enough great backs, IMO. I, too, like the fact that Singleton is honoring his word to visit Tulsa. By all accounts, CM has great quality of character, so that should not be the issue, but these accounts are not our coaches own assessments. That, I get, but still, if this guy is as good as everyone writes, and wants to be a Tiger, we should get him in for a visit, ASAP.

LSU loses Johnson after this year and will only have Ridley as a scholarship FB. So FB is a NEED. LSU has Williams, Murphy, and Scott for the next 2-3 years. Plus two good RBs in this class. RB is NOT a need. Thats why its not so difficult to see why Michael may not be taken. Again, if he isnt its sad, but its life. He should have come to camp when we had more schollies and even with two backs he may have been offered. As of now, unless he is a cant miss megastar there are other more VALUABLE players to the future of LSU. Some of you need to quit focusing on stars.
