6 And He said to them, "Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 7 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.' (Mark 7:6,7 NASB)

    :dis:

    Right!

I understand that, but I consider true atheism the active denial of the possability of God.

    Agreed.

ok, but the dictionary doesnt, and the word itself makes it apparent what it means. just like a person with heart arrhythmia doesnt deny the existence of proper heart rhythm, he just doesnt have it. like an amorphous object lacks shape, i lack belief.

It isn't a religion. Religion is "doing things for God"; mandatory tithes, sacrifices, prayers, routines, rituals. Christianity is all about what God did.

Hitler used the German collective's downtroddedness to get them to rise up against the common enemy. He was real good at taking verses out of context.

We agree, and that is why I left the HRCAC.

When we rely on a guy's dictionary definition as abject reality, the only answer that can be given is :dis:. Yes, atheism is lack of belief in God. What Supa and I were attempting to advance is that people who'd rather look after themselves #1 are more conducive to become atheists.

The Church by its devine establishment cannot falter. Though men and in some cases leaders fail, the Church as the body of beleivers can not err.

Hmm.. okay, well what about the religions under Christianity then? That better?

But anyway, I don't see why christianity doesn't fit the definition of religion that I posted earlier.

    1) Not everyone believes it is devine. And as far as I'm concerned, if the leaders err & the followers follow, the church itself has erred.

But it is not a requirement, and not a part of atheism.
