we have been over pascal's wager a zillion times here, but i dont mind, because some people havent really considered that belief is not a choice, so when they realize the flaw in their thinking they join me in hating jesus.

Never heard of Pascal's wagering service. Is that kind of like Vegas? Just something we have always tried to practice in my faith. Do I ever act in unchristian manner? Sadly, yes. Sometimes, big time. I would much rather be your friend but can be one of your worse enemies. I try to remind myself that right after the ole eye for an eye passage, the Bible says that vengenance is the Lord's. I just sometimes want to be a good and faithful servant and "smite" someone. In his name, of course.:hihi: Kind of like the ole story Jerry Clower used to tell about playing Baylor University in football. One of Baylor's big players kept knocking him around and wasn't alway's legal about it. Jerry said, "Ain't you ashamed of yourself? Playing for the University of Baylor, a fine Christian school, and you're playing like that." Well, Jerry says that big lineman just looked at him and said, "The Bible says that the weak shall inherit the earth, and YOU just inherited a mouthful!!!"

Interesting statement, I've never forced Chistianity on anyone and
I'm certainly not for forcing anything on anyone.
I just become concerned when Christianity becomes erased from
society from the religion, holidays and symbols.
Kinda like rewriting history, off topic but are we concerned with
rewriting history from religion to WWII?
It looks like we agree about these things being removed from non-government
    properties.

My argument about things on this board is like I've said many times.
Where do you draw the line?
In this case it is clear but things usually go further than they were ever intended to do so when it comes to government control such as:
Taxes and the welfare state, political correctness.
We don't always stop where we should in many cases, that is the problem.

i'd like to know who those people are. don't they know that going to church to err on the side of obligation doesn't do anything? living their lives as if there were no God until Sunday?

o wait, that's like every "Christian" I know.

That is what you are doing when you support the government's involvement in Christianity. Just as you don't want your kids "forced" to say Allah's prayers, I don't want to be "forced" to say any of yours.

I think you are misunderstanding the concern. It has nothing to do with history, except the history that is here today. It's not about erasing christianity from society - just keeping it seperate from the government.

You're not breaking anything to me. That's what I said.....Catholic does not mean Roman Catholic. It means universal church. But you can say whatever you want, the Roman Catholic church is not universal.

If the Roman Catholic church is so universal, then start letting people who are Christians take communion. And let Catholics take communion in another Christian church.

What does the government have to do with Christmas? The real meaning of the Christmas season is to celebrate the birth of Christ. If you don't believe in Him, don't celebrate Christmas for all I care. It's not Santamas, or Alahmas, or even Buddamas. When someone says "Happy Holidays" to me, I just might ask them "What holidays?" Oh! You mean the "Christmas holidays!" Or are you so thrilled about winter or so commercialized like Santa?

If someone wishes me a happy Hanaka, I wish them one too. I don't even know what all of that is, but I see no need to try to push my choice of faiths and ruin their time of celebration. May the peace and joy they find in their faith be enjoyed throughout their household.:)
