At this point I feel the choices are Herman one, coach O #2 (depending on what happens the rest of the year could make him go up or down), UW coach, some other random choice then jimbo. I think jimbo frankly missed his chance. Also he/his agent kind of burned a bridge here with the whole we want 7 mil per year deal. He frankly is still suspect IMO, I don't see him beating the gumps and taking us to the promised land.
To add more to the gumbo pot..... if we go 4-0 in November or even 3-1 and beat the gumps under coach O. Do you not give him the job. Shit it would be hard to keep him out of the discussion.
If that happens, yes, it would be hard not to officially hire Coach O. I know he's a Louisiana boy and many on this board are in love with the idea of hiring him but I don't think it would be a good idea in the long run for LSU. We'll get by on emotion for a while but I'm just not sold on his ability to manage a top-tier program over the long haul. I know Ole Miss was a long time ago but that was a complete shit show. Maybe he has learned a lot over the last 10 years... maybe. I don't think I want to pay the price to find out.

I hope we snag him. His downfall at Washington late this season or the playoffs should they make it will be the defense. They will lose a shootout somewhere along the line. Come to LSU and dominant on both sides of the ball on a consistent basis.
I wanted him back when we had mush brain and he was at Boise. Seeing what he did with the talent level at BSU, and what he's doing at UW... he could win several NC's at LSU.
