Bhelm, completely respect and appreciate your insight, but if we have a QB that looks strong and poised.......man I want him to get a shot in a game. I say this half jokingly....half seriously. Damn, I cant decide.
The guy who broke the story on Tiger Bait, Bryan Laysard (spelling?) said that he thought Garrett wasn't getting the offense, and had trouble getting the team to the line and was confused at times, pretty much like Shep was when was given the opportunity to try to play qb in practice and whatnot. Last season we saw a bunch of garbage at the line of scrimmage in game with Crowton's offense, not getting the plays out there on time, changing the play at the line of scrimmage. Is Crowton's offense too complicated?
I hope JJ becomes more durable & has a great season. BUT - from what I and all of you saw on the field last year we are way below par as SEC quarterbacks go. If the guys below JJ on the team can't pass him up then I am not feeling very good about our chances this winter. Running the ball is not gonna work until LSU gets someone who can burn that 8 man line with the pass.
He has a very complicated offense but the good news is that the staff has made adjustments and simplified it.
This is exactly who I was talking about. I didn't mention his name to protect him. Now it's out. CG is who I was talking about. Go back and read my post and it will all make sense now. lsudolemite can find the post. He's done it before.
