http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...DubYF?slug=ap-chiefs-dorsey&prov=ap&type=lgns Mr. Dorsey has apparently given the Chiefs permission to guarantee him 22 million in exchange for his services. Congrats, big guy!!!
Re: Chiefs and Mr. Dorsey have and agreement. Great! Maybe that means the Saints will make some progress in bringing in Sedrick Ellis now.
Re: Chiefs and Mr. Dorsey have and agreement. That's great for Dorsey! I wish him well. I believe that leaves four unsigned first round draft picks. 7 Sedrick Ellis / NO / DT 8 Derrick Harvey / Jacksonville / DE 9 Keith Rivers / Cincinnati / LB 11 Leodis McKelvin / Buffalo / CB 5 Glenn Dorsey / KC / DT 5 years / $51 million ($23M guaranteed) 6 Vernon Gholston / NYJ / DE 5 years / $50 million ($21M guaranteed) Now that Dorsey and Gholston have signed Ellis and Harvey know where they stand. As long as their agent doesn't get greedy, a deal should get done pretty quickly.
Re: Chiefs and Mr. Dorsey have and agreement. McKelvin signed today, so there are only 3 of 31 left unsigned. Hopefully the deal will get done this weekend.
Re: Chiefs and Mr. Dorsey have and agreement. The difference between #7 Vernon Gholston 5 yrs. / $50M / $21M and #10 Jerod Mayo 5 yrs. / $18.9M / $13.8M is pretty large. I would think Ellis would be looking for something a lot closer to Dorsey than to Mayo. I'm guessing 5 yrs. / $45-47M / $17-19M is what they're expecting. I hope his agent doesn't wait for #8 Harvey to sign before pulling the trigger. If he gambles, he could lose. Harvey and #9 Rivers could sign for far less than Dorsey so Ellis would lose his leverage. We've got a great offense, so we'll go as far as the defense will take us this year. I hope he gets to camp soon.
I love that cocky talk I was reading a post that cracked me up the other day that said that Ohio State's last point's against LSU were a gift from the Great SEC (as in: it is true, little girls, the Great SEC gives and decides points for opponents as we find fit). Nice to see that the Great Dorsey has decided to play for mere multi-millions instead of the Bill Gates wealth that he deserves.
Re: Chiefs and Mr. Dorsey have and agreement. That's pretty astonishing that VG of Ohio State got just as much as Dorsey. Don't get me wrong, VG is pretty sick, but he ain't as valuable as a Dorsey or Ellis, IMO.
Re: Chiefs and Mr. Dorsey have and agreement. To the Jets, I am sure he is that valuable. Or they wouldn't have picked him. He fits into the slot of guaranteed money well. $2M less than the guy above him.
Dorsey spained his left knee yesterday and will have an MRI this week. Should be out a few weeks but it sucks because he needs some valuable reps right now.
