Can't link from my phone but its no longer a rumor Tigerbait is reporting Calvin Godfrey did not make the grades & will not be @ LSU next year...That hurts bigtime as we were already thin in the front court

I liked hearing that our style of play will be more up tempo with an emphasis on still taking good shots. Does that mean we'll be more of a pressing team? Can someone put names into an expected rotation? If our front court is a bit thin, is there any chance the tuba player gets into the rotation?

Did Odoh make it to campus. I've heard Godfrey did not.

Odoh didn't either. He never officially committed to us. Think recruiting starts back up for him.

Yeah, actually think the guy is pretty dead on. What I think the next layer is looking at match ups. The tigers biggest Achilles this season is going to be size and "youth". The size thing is something I'm going to have think about more in light of the new SEC section. miss St loses their big to the draft too. Missouri and TA&m are not really big teams and neither are SC or Bama. So a guy like JOB has a chance to be a force if he's polished his inside moves and stayed in shape ( or improved). He's going to be asked to do more running and moving without the ball in CJJ's system and opposite Ludwig or Courtney at post, expect more cutting screening and high low. Will be key for Ludwig and Courtney to be able to hit that 17 footer to open up the middle.

With the "youth" which is really indicative of lack of good stability in a program and recruiting, there is a lot riding on newcomers Coleman, Hammink, Moragn and Collins. Essentially this is a whole new team you could throw out there. Reports are that some of these guys may surprise. But, that's what is said every summer. But, what I can say from YouTube videos and the like are I like them as youngw players. Hammink is very underrated but he was recruited by Billy D, who knows guards. He has a nice shot and court awareness which is frankly what at times hickey and stringer lack. Morgan is also key. Here's a guy we often forget was a top 100 kid since he committed to LSU early. With Corban as well we've got another PG who's able to score. We saw what a difference a good point can make with Hickey last year. Corban can shoot but the key will be playing smart. What LsU really lacked last year was smarts at times. Scary to say, but there were times they didn't play to their strengths... Hamilton and O'bryant. The maturity of hickey and stringer is a constant factor and if they can implement Johnny's system right, I believe LSU will be able to stay in most games.

Guard play is still so key in the college game and the nice thing is we now have more of them. But, now how really good are they and have the ones we had gotten better?

Maybe its a tricky camera angle but take out Tuba and the Lady Tigers look just as tall!

Can't believe the OOC schedule. Ought to be some non-commuter schools in it. ACC, Big East, Big whatever....something.
