I think the intentional cheap shots should almost be in a different class than the ones that happened on the spur of the moment. The cheap shot on Stafford, for example, was just as much the SEC refs fault as the fault of the Gator player. The SEC refs simply didn't whistle the play dead when it was obvious that the play had already been flagged. My worst cheap shot of the year didn't make this list. The Hawaii player in the Sugar Bowl who went flying down the field and went helmet to helmet with a punt returner who had clearly called for a fair catch. Never knew what hit him as he had to leave the game with a severe concussion. His very last play as a senior ended with a dirty shot to the head. Auburn's penalties almost looked like they had been practiced. I would lean towards putting them on the, "intentional list."
Dude that was the least dirty of them all. It was just a nice hit. If the hit was out of bounds it was only by a split second. You have two players running directly at each other at full speed, it's not like they can stop on a dime. The QB could of slid but he choose to try to squeak out an extra couple yards and paid the price. It's football.
If I were making a training film for new refs, I would used the Dorsey clip as a textbook example of an illegal chop block.
No the one in the OSU-Washington game where the guy tries to rip his head off under the pile and nothing is called
Especially when LSUs in the equation. Look at the Auburn/LSU game the last several years... it's a wonder we even have the opportunity to beat Auburn the way they call those games.
