Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was more "pro-LSU" than Shankle was. If my memory serves me correctly, Shankle wanted to play RB in college--an area that we're stocked with talent and at the time, they were both looking to attend the same school. I think the fact that Hewitt hasn't committed to A&M like Shankle says that perhaps he's not sold on the idea of being an Aggie. Had Hewitt gone on and committed when he first wanted to (during the summer he said he was very close to giving Miles his commitment, but didn't because of Shankle), then he might not be caught in the middle. Now, with the signings of Giddens, McCray and Clemons, we have a lot of flexibility at the safety positions (which I think is where Hewitt preferred to play).
