Per Scout. Maybe he'll put all that talent together one day at the U, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Guess the U was willing to let him stay on the defensive side of the ball?

Does this help Jai's decision to go to the U. I sure hope not :dis: :dis:

I really don't think it will have as much to do with Jai as you'd think. All things equal, Jai wants to go to Miami probably. But fortunately for us, he has a son and he has a decision to make.

Gut feeling where do you think Jai will end up??? I think Miami just because of the whole Ed Reed situation.

Miami will switch him to OL within his first year.

Gut feeling? He stays at home and goes to Tulane.

    Man, I hope not!

But in the event that he does, we had better be prepared to make a STRONG push at:

Perrish Cox 4-star (#9 CB) from Waco, Texas
AJ Wallace 4-star (#3 CB) from Maryland
Shareece Wright 4-star (#15 CB) from California
Ray Fisher 3-star (#46 CB) from Ohio

Not to put too much emphasis on "HAVE", but we have to sign at least one of those guys--and not to take anything away from him, but if Fisher is to come to LSU, I would hope we can bring Cox as well.

Fisher runs a 4.64-forty. Not exactly "cover-corner" numbers--especially with the WR's that we have in the SEC. Hell, I ran a 4.68 in high school, and I was too slow to play CB--I had to play FS! ...and I was almost the exact same height and weight as he is now (I was 5'7" and 155 lbs.).

But in all honesty, I think of the 4 CB's listed (in addition to Jai), Perrish Cox would appear to be the player that we have better than a 50/50 shot at signing.

All things being said, I think Jai is 70/30, in favor of LSU right now.

With Jai Eugene and Perrish Cox, LSU could have a coner combo like what Webster and Daniels were (at least they would have the POTENTIAL to be...).

If Jai and Perrish come to LSU!, then in two years, we could have a secondary of:

    Chris Hawkins at FS
    Craig Steltz at SS

and our #1, 2 and nickel CB's being (in no particular order)
    Chevis Jackson
    Jai Eugene
    Perrish Cox

    That would be sweet!!!

Anyone know what's up with CB/S Leonard Hewitt? I saw his pal Shankle committed to A$M, but Hewitt didn't. Is LSU still in the picture?

We cooled off on Hewitt I'm pretty sure. We're not really recruiting him anymore.
