Chavez never had a chance because he has no legal argument. As the Aggie judge showed the law trumps fandom. We don't need a LSU fan's ruling for LSU to win the suit.
Good call. Pelini wasn't bad either. All three helped LSU win titles. We saw how much Gerry missed Carl Reese when he tabbed Tepper, too. I'll never forget Reese shutting down Spurrier's $1 Gators with Cedric Donaldson and Raion Hill and the guys on the back end.
Not only was hiring Tepper in the first place a huge mistake, not firing him after a season is probably what led to the demise of the team and the firing of DiNardo.
Yup. Pretty sure that's exactly what led to Gerry's exit. He refused to accept reality and improve. Les is a stubborn son of a gun, and he's fiercely loyal, but he also will adjust. Honestly, I just wish Les would find some top flight in-game adjustment guy and make him the "in-game clock management and adjustment coordinator" and pay him as if he's a third coordinator. That's been Les' biggest issue, imo. Sean Payton just re-hired Dennis Allen (DB coach in 2009 Super Bowl year) and he's essentially assistant head coach and defensive specialist. Made the title up. Hell, maybe Payton fires Ryan mid-season and Allen replaces him as DC. Possible.
The best defensive coordinator in LSU history was Bill Arnsparger. Yes he was HC but does anyone really believe Archer was anything but a yes man? No one could adapt his game plan to circumstances better than Bill
He would get my vote also. He also put a lot of pride back into the program that had seeped away. He was a great hire.
