Here's an interview with John Chavis after LSU beat Bama. Just for the record, Les Miles Offense faced Big John's 3 times at Tennessee. Les Miles was the winner on 2 of the 3 games.

On August 7, 2012, this is what Chavis said about Les in his opening statement at LSU's Media Day press conference:

"Right now, you are going to see the happiest John Chavis you are going to see for a long time. Let me tell you what a privilege is to work beside a great head coach. I've had the opportunity to coach with some really great head coaches. That opportunity is here at LSU. Coach Miles does a tremendous job of leading this program and setting the tone for this program. He is one of the best football coaches I have been around and one of the best leaders I have been around."

Nice! Now Miles needs to go find a championship counterpart to Chavis at OC and make him the happiest OC in the game!

Said the man who's making more money as LSU's DC then a lot of head coaches thanks to Les Smiles.

Compared to Phil Fulmer... it's hard to disagree with Chavis.

Phil Fulmer is in the HOF as a coach

Before Fulmer, Chavis played and then coached under Johnny Majors

Another HOF coach Chavis served under was Doug Dickey, who was the AD of Tennessee when Chavis was there

How does that compare to the successful leaders you have served under, dumbass?

we'd be paying Chavis like we do regardless if Les wanted us to or not...if we don't, someone else will...heck even Washington is paying their new DC close to what we are paying Chavis...i don't think Chavis would have any problem getting the same salary we pay him if he made a lateral move to become DC of another big school. And if he wanted to be a head coach at a big school, Chavis would make much more than we're paying him

I guess since The Miles offense keeps his defense on the field the whole game and gets to showcase what a great coordinator he truly is for an entire game where most only get a half......and he gets the big $$ to do it.

Somehow I think we pull it off against SC though.....feel it in my plums.

I don't see how anyone would expect Chavis to say anything to the contrary. If Chavis is not happy with the offensive production it would be voiced to Miles behind closed doors. Hell, he might be the only one who could get through to Miles about making some adjustments.
