this is my in to get a job in the athletic department! i dont eat much so i would offset any food allowance costs for meetings!
if that is true, then why the hell is crowton having the problems that he is having? seriously, i'm curious. this guy has proved that he can coach, and coach well. surely miles has to be cramping his style?
There have been several sources that confirm that Miles stays out of the way of his OC and DC. You are just seeing the manifestation of Crowten's Rubiks Cube offense in all it's glory. Run by a QB that has neither the skills to run it, nor the coaching to support him. Crowton has just hit the wall. Not unlike every other coaching stop he has had. Nootch has offered stats in a few threads to show it. And the Oregon fans certainly warned us.
crowton. look, his success speaks for itself. i'm too lazy, but you can do a google search. my point is that the dude has better talent than he has at any other program and his results at LSU are not even CLOSE to what they were at schools like Oregon. just a little bit from LSUsports.net:
i've seen those posts, believe me, lol. :hihi: all i'm saying is that he hasn't even attained the level of "greatness" at LSU that he had at other schools... if he can do that at BYU and Oregon, he should be able to do something at LSU.
I think the qualifying factor for Crowton has been inheriting an experienced(older) QB initially. They do well, they graduate, then he has to teach a 18-20 year old and he hits the wall. All of those programs, including ours(Flynn), had older QBs when Crowton showed up. Crowton's first year - he blew it up.
good point. so why doesn't LSU just bring in someone with a track record of improving QBs? is there a limit on how many coaches you can have? or do they have certain off-season camps that players can attend? surely there has to be something available since this isn't the NFL and it's just student athletes. i know that they get help with everything else. (housing, study centers, etc.) seems like there should be ways for them to get the help they need pertinent to their athletic development. but i guess that really has to be addressed by the coaching staff..
this brings up a point i have brought up with a couple of friends and has been discussed some on the geaux show. a qb coach. we either need to get a new oc with a proven track record (and maybe a specialty at) developing qbs, or we need a new oc AND a qb's coach. what we have been doing isnt working as it appears our qb's just arent getting coached up and developing the way they might could have been.
