I've been saying this all a long. I thought Scott was the best back on the team last year including Hester. I think he will get most of the carries and have a big year.
Scott was a fuggin freight train. He looked mean, aggressive, athletic, mean, aggressive, happy, like he just got laid happy. Yip...
OK. I understand your position. I still don't understand your reasoning. Scott looks dominant. KW looks horrible. Why do you think he'll get more carries than last year?
Williams does not have to be horrible for Scott to be better. He's a good back and will be used early and often this year.
I was hoping that this would be Williams' breakout season, but it is not looking good for him. If he has not evolved by his junior year, it is questionable if he will. Scott looked really great and Ridley shows a lot of promise. I was also sorry, and a bit surprised, that Murphy did not get more touches.
But there is a Murphy and a Ridley and both are running harder than KW at this point. And Scott looks like Hester with maybe a bit more velocity. So, again, I don't see how anyone can at this point say that Scott won't get Hester - like numbers of carries. Based on one game, I'd say the evidence is that he IS the next Jacob Hester. But it's just one game.
My comment was that KW looked horrible. That observation was independent of CS. My sincere hope is that KW gets it figured out. But, after watching the game twice now, there is no dispute. KW just didn't look like he was all that pumped up about playing. CS, RM and SR all looked better than KW to me. KW has the POTENTIAL to be a good back. Yesterday, he quit running twice and cost LSU a first down on one of them.
With Scott averaging 10 yards a pop it doesn't surprise me that Murphy didn't get more touches. He may be the one who gets 16 carries in the next game.
