I knew we werent out of the water with him yet. ProFootballTalk isnt much of a credible source but I hope he is right. Worst case scenario is a trade or 1st round draft pick? What yall think? http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
Thanks for a good morning laugh. No team would be willing to give up 2 first round picks for Charles Grant.
Yeah but just imagine what we could do with that 4th overall pick. It's a huge longshot and damn near an impossibility. But hey, it's the offseason, right? Gotta keep ourselves occupied somehow!
On second thought, they could be evaluating a trade that involves less than franchise tag compensation (e.g. Bucs' second round pick and 4th next year or something.) Regardless, this is great news for the Saints.
I don't see how it is anything other than good for the Bucs, too, assuming they keep their 1st round pick. How many 2-3rd rounders come in and are immediately as good as charles grant is?
A little bit more credible then profootball talk, the Tampa Tribune is reporting the same. A trade is a more likely scenario, but I don't think the new Saints brain trust would just trade him for just a couple of third-rounders or something. The Saints are in the power position and can dictate the terms if Tampa doesn't want to surrender the two first round picks. "The visit might be part of an effort to force a trade, because the Bucs would be forced to surrender two first-round picks should they sign Grant to an offer the Saints refuse to match." http://www.tbo.com/sports/bucs/MGBK6FP1CZE.html?imw=Y
http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/story/grant-some-possible-scenarios/ I wouldn't be opposed to getting Calvin Johnson! Where do we sign up?:thumb:
