i dont know. maybe you're right. he just seemed confused some times. most of that is on the coaching. that is what i'm getting at. you're right. but that kinda reinforces what i'm saying that the dude needs to get in with a few more plays up his sleeve. which is understandable due to the experience jefferson has over shepard. maybe the coaches know something from practice that we don't about shepard? jefferson has some trouble getting the play from the sideline at times, and that is the coaching not jefferson. i don't see why it's automatically russel shepard's fault when it happens to him.
That was one of the most ignorant football discussions I ever listened too. If they really believe Shep only knows 2 plays they should be fired immediately. I can say with 100% certainty that is not the case. IDK what happend on the one play where we had to take a timeout and JJ was in Sheps face. But on the other, it was Lafell and Tolliver running around like thye had no clue wtf was going on. The fact that he is playing at all this early is against Miles' beliefs. It is clear that he is on a very short leash, and I'm sold on the thought that it is them holding him back, and not because he doesn't know the plays. That just seems ridiculous to me when you consider his character and approach to the game. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if he knew the offense better that JJ. AND NO I"M NOT SAYING HE SHOULD BE PLAYING A WHOLE LOT MORE THAN HE IS. I JUST DON"T THINK HIM NOT KNOWING THE PLAYS IS THE REASON.
If "Gordy" = Jordy Hultberg then you should ignore everything he says because he is an ignorant douchebag.
I'm inclined to agree with you here. Go back to '07....Ryan Perrilloux was getting about 8-10 snaps a game, and rarely ran anything but options. But in 2 games where injury force RP to start and go the distance, he had a substantial part of the playbook at his disposal, if not the whole thing. He clearly knew enough of the offense to qb an entire game, but The Hat got locked into some kind of mindset that he was good for only one type of play. He seems to be doing the same thing to Shepard. Think logically....does anybody really believe he went through the entire spring, the entire summer, and 5 weeks of the regular season and has only learned 2 plays?
Ahem he means Gordy Rush who hosts the postgame show on 98.1 with charles hanagriff (sp). It would be pretty hard for it to be jordy, since he's on a plane over mississippi right now.
I'm not one to knock the coaching staff because I think we've got some of the best around but they need to start letting Shepard utilize his full arsenal. I really thought he'd throw the ball once or twice today. At least they got him a little more action and hopefully next week he busts loose. It's obvious that he's a gamebreaker if given the opportunity.
I really, really, really liked that play and cannot believe that we abandoned it in the second half. That's always been the biggest thing that's puzzled me about Miles. Something works fantastically in the 1st half, and we usually scrap it in the second. Charles Scott v UK in 2007 and Keiland vs AU the same year come to mind.
