Is he officially done for the season? Or, might there be a chance he suits up for the NCG?

Haven't heard anything on it, sure would be sweet if he could get on the field.

Miles said Sunday night that the team will be at 100% health.

I don't know if he was including the guys that were out for the season in that list or not.

What is Mr. Alexander's official injury? And how long was the injury supposed to keep him out of action?

I think it was a torn ACL but I couldn't find any articles to confirm the injury. One did mention that LSU would explore options about a possible medical redshirt.

you saying that made the bulb go off in my head that it was an ACL, which means he is out for the title game.

as far as medical redshirts go, I think he might have played too much. I could be wrong, but wasn't Florida his 1st game out? (that's a total guess).

I think you're right, he was injured in practice and didn't play vs Florida. If thats the case he played in about 3 games? MSU, VT, and MTSU. I'm not sure what the rule about medical redshirts is.

    Found this:

    http://www.techsideline.com/football/medicalredshirt.html

"To receive a medical hardship waiver - in any sport - the injury must limit the student-athlete’s participation to no more than 20 percent of the team’s contests (rounded to the next whole number), with all participation occurring in the first half of the season.

Therefore, for a football player, the maximum number of games that he can play in and still receive a medical hardship waiver is three (20 percent of 11 equals 2.2, which is rounded up to 3), and none of his time on the field can occur after the fifth game (the sixth game of an eleven game season is considered in the second half of the season)."

he got injured somewhere in that 3rd-4th game ratio.

do the bowl and championship game count?

b/c 3/12 obviously is 25%, but 3/14 is right around that 20% level.

20% of 12 is 2.4 which gets rounded up to 3. If he played 4 games he could not get a redshirt.
