I watched Channing Ward play last night against Columbus high and he was held to a pretty quite night. They have him playing both ways and special teams so he never comes off the field and he seemed pretty gassed in the second half(it was very hot and humid) . He was being handled pretty well by left tackle Jake Thomas (already offered from MoooU) who is a junior and 6'6'/305. Thomas should be one to watch this year he certainly held his own last night. If Channing played for a team with a big enough roster where he could just play D he would be dangerous. Very quick off the ball with long arms. He seemed to take some plays off then explode on others. When he did go hard he was a handfull. Hard to tell much from 1 game especially the first game. It was fun to watch he and Thomas knock heads all night. There was some talk around last night that he still has LSU in the running maybe bHelm can shed some light on it. Are we still going after him? :tigereye:
We are on him hard and many feel that LSU is the team he likes the best. He has always considered LSU his team. However, the real attle is with momma who wants him to stay close to home and I think he will.
bHelm what is the word on Channing this week . I know that one of the coaches flew in Friday to watch him play. Have you heard anything about the coaches visit? I believe he is visiting Bama this weekend for the big game but I hope it is to watch LSU kick the tides a$$. I am hearing rumblings that it could be an LSU/ BAMA battle. With Ole Miss and MSU struggeling this year you got to think that helps.
Sorry, crunching in work before I head to T-town. Last minute notice. Haven't heard about the visit but LSU is his favorite team and has been a big fan for a long time. Only thing holding him in the air is Momma. Wants him close to home but I have heard she is getting more comfortable with the potential move.
