What do you guys think of him now. I think he has made a huge improvement from Week 1 to Week 3. He made better tackles and played the middle of the field very well last game. I truly hope that it continues, because I had enough of seeing him out of place and throwing shoulder tackles just to miss the guy.
Did't you hear? He's play has only improved because the quality of competition has declined. I think he's doing a fine job. Even in that first game, he was always in position to make the play. He's settling back nicely into his football routine and is starting to show glimpses of how good he can be. USL or not, he got a huge boost in confidence from his performance.
I give Jones his due, he has made some real strides. He had that wicked special teams tackle. He has all the potential in the world.
I think he is playing a lot better, but the truth is that we haven't played much of anyone yet. If he plays this well against UGA, the speed of UF, Ole Miss, etc, we'll all be happy. He's improving, so that's good. Hopefully the whole team (especially the o and d lines) follows suit.
And about a quarter and a half later, he made a weak-ass attempt at an arm tackle. Overall, though, I have been pleased with his last two games. That one tackle on kick coverage was absolutely text book. Put a hat on him, wrap up. It was perfect. We just need more of those. I guess the two INTs make up for the weak arm tackle. :grin:
