You have got to be kidding? How in the he11 does Saban get in on all these guys at the 11th hour? :dis:
while his chances would be better if he was a pitcher, there are plenty of outfielders taken in the first 2 rounds out of high school. The two-sport thing may be the saving grace but if he's as talented as reported I can see it happening. he runs a 4.4x something and is over 6'2. Id need a scouting report to see where his ceiling is projected but teams will be salivating to get him im sure. He said he really likes playing on the LSU outfield so let's hope its enough to turn down a million or two.  we need to find a scouting report on him for baseball. didnt see one @ baseballamerica.
Does the fact that Jarred Bogany was just kicked off the team factor into Jones' decision? That's interesting timing to say the least. Does he come in and play center field right away? (given that he doesn't go high enough in the draft)
This is bad for a couple of reasons. Not only are they visiting, but it shows you we know very little about Saban and what his recruits think. It seems as if every Bama/LSU prospect has come out and said they have little interest in Bama (or seems that way) and we find it is not true. FWIW, I highly doubt Jones goes to Bama.
FWIW Mike Farrell (Recruiting Analyst) on Rivals Radio (Thursday 25th): Terrance Toliver - LSU Chad Jones - LSU Joe McKnight- USC - Said he just changed his pick on McKnight because he says McKnight "Is in love with USC" & wants to be "That Reggie Bush type of player". Is projecting LSU to Finish in the Top #3 in the Nation. 1. Florida 2. USC 3. LSU **Although he did say McKnight could change his mind & go to LSU & which would vault LSU to the #1 spot. He said there are a bunch of top notch recruits we are looking at, mentioned Jason Peters & Dez Bryant. Also said Miles has been doing a fantastic job recruiting for LSU.
cool, I dont think McKnight really is in love with all the bad press gonig on with Reggie, and PC...He might want to stay away from Cali. Also He would have committed to PC if he was going to USC...just my gut feeling. We will see.
Miles has done a great job recruiting for LSU since he arrived. He improved satan's last class by adding Perrilloux. Great class last year, and this year we already have a great class with some room to improve. I know from my friends from A&M that they were glad not to have to recruit against him, as that was one of the schools they fought with over players. Miles more than held his own at Okie St. in Stillwater, Ok. If you can do that, ya gotta be good! On McKnight, with the new Bush revelations lately at USC, does it factor into his decision that the condoms could be facing probation during his tenure? It would enter my decision making.
I disagreed when many said that Kiffen becoming Raiders coach would have any bearing on the decision of McKnight. I do agree with you here, the possibitlity of facing a probation or any sanctions during his time at USC could certainly deter McKnight. If things start to look ugly for USC or it appears it will be a lengthy investigation I think that bodes well for LSU.
Well, no offense, but aTm is STILL competing against Miles for recruits--aTm just doesn't have to face players that they tried to land during the regular season. LSU and aTm share the same "hotbed" recruiting area of Houston.
