So i was thinking about some of the greatest defensive players in the past five years. Naturally Chad Jones came up. I know he got in a car accident and was placed on IR with the Giants. Has anyone heard any news about him recently? I loved his game and was one of my favorite safety to play at LSU.
He's working like a madman to get in playing shape for this year's training camp. For a kid who doctors didn't think would even walk again, his progress has been unbelievable. He's a man on a mission. Too lazy to look it up now, but there was a very good article on Chad posted here not long ago talking about his progress and goals.
Thats great news. I really really really hope i get to see him play again. It will be one of the most inspiring stories ever. Best luck to him
he actually ran out onto the field this season for the g-men when they played the saints in new orleans this year. Between him and dbyrd lsu could have two very ineteresting and amazing comebacks next year.
during the 2010 season, cj was recognized at tiger stadium. when he walked onto the field, i teared up. i think a lot of us were wondering at one point if he would live, and walking seemed to be a miracle. he was the grand marshall of the 2011 homecoming, and i got to get a pic with him. i was squealing like a little girl after. the dreadlocks of doom is one of my heroes for his perseverance to overcome such physical obstacles and difficulties.
Would Chad get a Super Bowl ring if the Giants win? I know he on a special list because he's injured, but recovering, but still recognized as a team member.
That's a team decision. The league either pays a set amount for the team to spend on rings, or pays for a fixed number of rings, I'm not sure which. The team decides who gets them, and pays for any beyond what the league pays.

I'm wondering how many would also put him as one of the "Greatest" of defensive players in the last 5 years. He's not in my top 3, not close. Not hating. Loved watching him play. One of the few to win a National Championship at LSU in two sports.
