Saw this little bit from the "Advocate" and wondered if it means Jones is having academic trouble or if there's something else going on with him. Does anyone here KNOW what's going on with Chad?

I hope he's o.k. and will be eligible for football. We'd sure miss him if he isn't able to play! I know he's turning into a fan-favorite.

    Thanks if you can help

Chad Jones is fine...he participated in spring practice and will be playing football in the fall. He just wound up getting behind on the depth chart and wasnt gong to see the field much in baseball. He was having troubles swinging both football and baseball so CPM and CLM decided it was best if he just participated in football during the spring.

Maineri said that he dropped to part-time student status. That could affect his football eligibility status unless he's making it up in the summer session.

I'm a huge Chad Jones fan, I think his resources can be better used for football. But I do wonder where his head is at. His brother, Al Jones, excuse me Rahim Alem, is on the football team as well. Trainers cleaned out his locker two years ago because he was going to leave LSU due to "race issues" on campus. I just hope he buckles down in school and plays for the tigers.

I do not think there are any issues to make anyone wonder where his head is at. He was not doing well in one of his classes and like every college student in the same situation decided to drop the class instead of having to make up for a poor grade. So that made him under the number of hours required to be eligible which could be easily made up in the summer so he did not miss any football practices. Looks like he followed a student counselor's advice.

PM may have said he did not play because of being ineligible but to be accurate he and Miles decided he would not play baseball before the class was dropped.

If Miles has to teach him himself, he will.

No way Chad Jones misses the season.

Its this part of PM's quote that is puzzling: "I’ve had no communication with him in the past two months" My question is why hasn't there been communication. I don't know enough about the circumstances to have an idea about if there should have been communications. I firmly beleive he will play football in the fall, not sure about baseball though.
