That's amazing! Geaux Chad! :geaux: Ya gotta like the pitching coach, bold move putting in a kid that hasn't pitched since high school.
i just watched the replay on CST to see jones pitch, and man... he got hit pretty hard twice (one a base hit, the other missed being a 2 RBI double by inches, maybe centimeters,) but he was throwing some heat. plus his slider isn't too bad. that was awesome though.
The boldness came from when Manieri inserted Jones. With no outs and runners on base late in the 3rd game with Auburn. Putting him somewhere in middle relief with the bases clear would have be a little easier ease in for him. But he came through big getting 2 K's. And 91 mph coming from the left side is a good weapon.
What was up with taking his glove over a white spot? Reflection maybe? Way to not get spooked over a couple of dingers and gettin er done. :tigbas:
I think if you were to do some weird motion with the glove, it could be a distraction to the batter (maybe mistake it for the ball)
There are a lot of rules for pitching and their equipment. I had to have pitchers in little league take off their white t shirts underneath their dark jerseys. The only white thing the ump wants to see coming from the mound is the ball.
