    • Outfielder Leon Landry of Baker High School, listed as a third baseman and drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 36th round.
    • Shortstop D.J. LeMahieu of Brother Rose High School in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., drafted in the 41st round by the Detroit Tigers.
    • Pitcher Jordan Brown of Meridian (Miss.) Community College, drafted in the 45th round by Cincinnati.
    • Pitcher Ryan Verdugo of Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, Wash., drafted in the 47th round by the San Francisco Giants.
PM and the staff feel like they are in good shape after the draft.

Check out the article, it has alot of info about Chad Jones wanting 1st round money and how a few players we signed could have gone earlier if the agreed to the price.

Jones has not yet registered at LSU. Does this mean he will end up playing MLB after all?

Is there a deadline for when they have to enroll? If not, he could probably enroll the day before fall and they would register him.

    August 15th is the deadline.
"First, MLB has set an August 15 deadline for players to sign, or else return to the draft pool for the following year. This effectively eliminates the draft-and-follow pattern, where teams draft a player one year, and then wait until his season concludes the following year to sign him in a lower draft slot. With the new deadline, there will be a lot of haggling in early August, but the player will not drive up his price by holding out longer."

So at least we know he has to decide by Aug 15th. I'm guessing LSU doesn't care when he enrolls?

I guess he would have to enroll by whenever the deadline is for other LSU students. It's going to be a while before he decides anyway.

LSU very much cares when he enrolls. He can't participate in summer workouts unless he's enrolled during the summer. It's important for all signees to get enrolled during the summer so they can workout.

This just tells me he is more interested in playing pro ball than coming to LSU. He'll only be here if he doesn't get a good deal. I'll take him anytime, but we now know where his heart is.

I was unaware of the rules. Didn't realize they had to be enrolled in summer courses to participate in workouts. Seems like he could have signed up for pottery 101 or something. If he does enroll in the fall he will be behind the other backs.

That's why many think he's gonna sign a deal. He could have easily signed up for summer classes while pursuing a baseball deal if he was on the fence.

Our best hope now is for him to not get a great deal. Selfish on my part, I know, but I'd like to see him in an LSU uniform.
