Chad Jones 'resting comfortably' as he recovers from Friday accident | NOLA.com

Chad's in recovery mode now...nice article. The fact that four days have gone by and he didn't have to go back into surgery is a good sign that the doctors have successfully done everything they could.

I've been pretty silent about commenting on this so far because I went through almost the exact same thing with my hand and arm when I was in Dental school. It's chilling to me because my car looked just like Chad's after the wreck. I still can't look at pictures of it comfortably.

Chad can now look forward to a very long and slow recovery from this. His life will never be the same...even if he recovers enough to try athletics again. But that's OK because somehow this change in direction of his life will ultimately lead to spiritual direction. The priorities of life have been put in proper perspective now.

Good luck, Chad. the character that you've developed through achieving what you did in sports and the grace of God will pull you through. :thumb:.

Do the Giants pick up the bill for this?

definitely not, someone was looking after the guy, that's for sure.

it's a funny thing, ya know. out of high school, baseball was supposedly his passion and we were all hoping he'd pass on the Astros and come to LSU. After winning a title in baseball, i fully expected him to start giving more time to pitching, but he decided to leave school early for the NFL. i remember early on saying that i wanted him to focus on football and not even worry about baseball (this is coming from a diehard Tigers baseball fan, mind you.) only chad jones knows what chad jones wants, i have a feeling that whatever he chooses, he will do LSU proud. he already has in my book.

right, but two innings of relief is not as taxing as four quarters of football. of course CJ is a beast with a bat too, so don't discount him getting a position if he chooses baseball. the kid has a MLB body for sure. i really think he could become one of LSU baseball's greatest MLB players if he so chooses.

I'm really glad he survived and hold out hopes he's able to mend and maybe find his way back to being able to do the things he loves without impediment.

Everytime I'm out by the lakefront I think of Marquise Hill.

Life can be pretty fleeting, and it's nice when all we have to get worked up about is a timeout not used right or a technical foul that shouldn't have been called or whatever.

Best wishes to Chad and his family and the others in the vehicle.

I thought the question about payment of med bills was crass so I responded in kind.

How is the question about who picks up the bill crass? I was just curious because the guy is going to have medical bills. I am hearing that the Giants are trying to get his 800k signing bonus back, maybe there is a fund people can donate to get his medical bills paid. How is that crass?

You think the Giants are trying to claw back a signing bonus when a guy is in critical condition in the hospital? There's no way. Maybe in a year or two they will make some sort of attempt to get out of the contract but they will do it very quietly if they do it at all. As far as his bills go, I'm sure the guy has insurance as part of his employment with the giants, so the insurance company is probably paying for it.

Heard that on the radio yesterday, don't know how true it is. But i hope the Giants are covering him, they should anyway.
